Nejudržitelnější holandský kemp
5 x H600, Polisher type C
1.212.000 liters | 320,147.76 gallons
This award-winning sustainable campsite is located in the province of Zeeland, on the border of fresh and salt water. Hydraloop collects and treats shower and bath water from the sanitary building (25+ showers and family bathrooms) in a mobile, scalable Hydraloop Cascade. Reuse water is used for toilet flushing and garden irrigation. The campsite also has a rainwater harvesting tank which can collect 200 m3 rainwater. However, in summer the campsite runs out of rainwater in three weeks. Thus, the solution presented itself in the form of water recycling, a water source plentiful available year round.
In October 2023, its owner Adriaan proudly accepted the ‘Most Sustainable Camping’ award during the Sustainability Conference for the Camping Industry at the Camping and Caravan Trade Fair in the Netherlands. The jury report stated: “This is a campsite with a clear vision for the future. With clear figures and facts, they managed to convince both the public and the jury that they are the most sustainable campsite. The campsite is open year-round and takes measures to reduce CO2 emissions both in summer and winter. The campsite is fully electrified, conserves water, and achieves significant sustainability improvements through a combination of innovative techniques. An impressive achievement at this scale and a role model for many.”
